A former student emailed the following:
I was just hired as the Technology Department Chair / Technology Integrationist … basically, I will be responsible for writing a technology plan and integrating technology into all classrooms, at all levels – Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Do you have any suggestions right off the bat as for resources I should be looking at?
Do you have any suggestions for things I may need to get started?
I’ll be adding my two-cents – but I’m hoping with the help of my PLN I can point her to some stellar resources. Thanks in advance PLN!
I happen to just be gathering resources that break down the National Ed Tech Plan from the Department of Ed. Here is my diigo of everything I am bookmarking: http://www.diigo.com/user/alzellner/NETP
Seems like that might be a good place to start? Keep us posted!
If I were thrust into such a position, I would rely heavily on the CoSN CTO Framework of Essential Skills. They have a fantastic map laid out (http://www.cosn.org/Portals/7/docs/framework/Framework.pdf) that gives you a great road map for establishing a strong use of technology within a school district.
Michigan GLCE’s. Even if you don’t work in michigan, it’s a great resource. Our instructional technology curriculum council is working on specifics to integrate these into the curriculum.

Ah! This is perfect. I’m helping with a community school project on the south side of Chicago and need to find the best technology resources for 5th graders. I’ll continue to follow the feed.
Thanks!
